Drumbo Road, Lisburn
A replacement dwelling was constructed following acquisition of the original bungalow on the site. The property was designed for a developer/client, and the brief was to maximise the potential of the site, and to create an attractive family residence that would appeal to a wide range of potential purchasers. The design utilises a variation of rooflines, dormer windows and varying window fenestration, together with familiar external finishes of smooth render, slate roofs and white timber windows, to help reduce the visual impact of the large floor area of the dwelling, which is not immediately apparent from the front approach. The attractive approach from Drumbo Road along the front driveway to the front entrance, with its sensitive landscaping design and use of architecturally considered planting and shrub beds to soften views of the building exterior, has helped to create a property of genuine character.
